If you’ve recently left school or college, it’s important to know that under the Raising the Participation Age (RPA) legislation, young people in England are required to continue in education, employment or training until their 18th birthday. This could include full-time education, an apprenticeship, a traineeship, supported internship, or employment alongside accredited training.
As part of Durham County Council’s duties to support young people, DurhamWorks may contact you or your parent/carer over the coming weeks to discuss your post-16 plans and ensure you have the information and support you need to move into your next step.
Whether you’re starting college, an apprenticeship, training, employment, or you’re still deciding on your next move, we’re here to help.
