Groundwork North East and Cumbria

Who are we?

We are an environmental charity. We support community projects across the UK, changing places and changing lives. Our projects include tackling climate change by helping people out of fuel poverty, bringing out the best in young people by helping them to improve their local area, building stronger communities by improving parks, playgrounds and other shared green spaces and getting people back into work by creating green jobs.

What can we offer DurhamWorks Young People?

On our Motiv8 horticulture programme young people will have the opportunity to plan and deliver their own community project and take part in practical work experience with the National Trust. We also offer advice and information, training with qualifications, job matching help and help with CVs and application form skills.

Participants will be given the opportunity to gain their CSCS Care and Health & Safety in the Workplace qualification upon completion of the programme. Will also look at further training around first aid and moving and lifting after the course and any other training which would benefit the young person.

We can provide financial help with travel, childcare costs, clothes for interviews or the equipment you will need for a job.
