With current staff shortages and a tougher financial climate, DurhamWorks appreciate these are challenging times for any business. To help, we can assist you in accessing a grant to cover the cost of employing a young person.

Small and medium-sized enterprises* in Durham are eligible for a DurhamWorks grant to help towards 75% of the cost of a young person’s salary for three months.

Employing a young person has many potential benefits for your business. As well as providing a cost-effective way to address any future skill needs that you may have, a young person will also introduce fresh ideas and enthusiasm to your existing workforce. DurhamWorks will even identify participants who we feel would be a good ‘fit’ for you and your business.

Many small and medium-sized enterprises have previously taken up the offer and have received support to help them to find the right young person for their business.

We are currently working with a wide range of young people who we will match to your vacancy!

We look forward to hearing from you.
