Debbie Cruddace, a DurhamWorks Progression Advisor has been working with a young man, David Robson, who was signed upto DurhamWorks after being on a supported Internship.
Debbie tells us of David's Journey through DurhamWorks and where he is now.
"David Robson was transferred to me after being on the supported internship – his mum was very keen to get him engaged in something positive- but he struggled. He started Catch 22, but didn’t feel stretched enough. He hit a very dark space in his life and his behaviour became a challenge.
We tried everything to try and re-engage him, until one day I referred him to NEAS.
His mum stated that he is a “different lad”- she has seen a change in him straight away, his mood, his confidence and his self-belief”
Feedback from NE-AS was, “David has attended every session apart from one last week when he wasn’t feeling himself. He has engaged really well and has made some new friends. His Mam fed back that she can see a big change in his attitude and behaviour since attending the programme.
He has identified his skills and what information needs to be added to a CV. He has completed the Do-It-Profiler and we will be going through the results of the assessment next week”.
David is a FANTASTIC young man and will engage in anything he is set to do, he has been easily led in the past, but now he has focus and drive to stay on the right path in life and keep busy.
Work placement was a challenge a while back for David, but now, it will be a pleasure to find him work, as he has developed in so many ways and is a true people person!!"
