Naomi's luck changed since becoming a Peer Mentor

"I was working in factory before I applied for this role and people kept saying to me your wasted in there as you’re a people person, I never took much notice, but I was quite unhappy. I have experience from involvement with the criminal justice system and the prison system and when I saw the advert for this job, I jumped at the opportunity. I didn’t actually believe people would want me as I thought I was a write off, when I passed the interview and I was offered the role, I knew my luck was changing".

"First Point is such an incredible company who are truly dedicated to helping people, it is so refreshing to be around genuine and passionate people every day. The training we received for the peer mentoring programme was extremely beneficial, never have I worked for a company that prepares the person mentally for a role before physically teaching them the job. Myself and the rest of the team are so dedicated to this pilot, we all have the same aims which is to provide support, advise and guide people who have been faced with difficulties and we are so thrilled that the mentee referrals are coming in, thick and fast".
