What is Functional Skills Maths?
Functional Skills Maths is a series of courses and qualifications that offer an alternative to GCSE. There are five levels: entry level 1, 2 and 3, Level 1 and Level 2.
Functional skills are an alternative to the GCSE route and offer learners a vocational pathway into numeracy with the flexibility to sit assessments all year round.
This course will enable learners to gain confidence in using mathematics. We provide a foundation for learners to progress into employment or further technical education and develop skills for everyday life. Learners will show a sound grasp of the basic and underpinning numeracy skills for each level and apply mathematical thinking to solve simple problems in familiar situations.
