L1 Award in Warehousing & Storage Principles plus Fork Lift Truck Licence

Qualification: C&G1016 Level 1 in Warehousing & Storage
This is a four-week programme that incorporates warehousing & storage principles alongside H&S, CV building and employability. This course also teaches the learner how to safely operate a Forklift Truck (Counterbalance). Upon completion of this 4 week course, you will be able to sit the 5-day industry recognised RTITB Fork Lift Truck licence FREE OF CHARGE, subject to availability and terms & conditions.
Day one is spent completing a site and Health and Safety induction.
You will start in the classroom where you will learn the basics of warehousing, the variation involved in warehousing, storage including how to work with others and customer service.
You will also receive a dedicated Health and Safety & careers week, to identify your goals and interests. You will research warehousing/Forklift job roles and think about what areas interest you the most. You will spend some time doing e-learning on related subjects such as manual handling, introduction to health & safety etc and will complete the health & safety unit for the qualification.
You will spend time learning about stock inventory and will do this for Finchale college. Working with the team that receive all orders and parcels for Finchale, you will log them against expected orders, package for distribution and ensure that the right people get their parcels.
You will then spend time learning about the forklift in groups of 3. You will get a basic introduction to Fork Lift Truck, learning to inspect, maintain and operate the forklift in a safe manner by our approved tutor.
To complete the forklift truck training you must be of ‘school leaving age’ (minimum age is 16).
Upon completion of this 4 week course, you will be able to sit the 5-day industry recognised RTITB Fork Lift Truck licence FREE OF CHARGE, subject to availability and terms & conditions:
- You must have completed your 4 weeks and city and guilds course with us first
- You must be 16+ and have left school,
- You must be in good health and free of drugs.
