Jack Drum Arts

Who are we?

Jack Drum Arts run a wide range of creative workshops, courses, theatre, music and filmmaking activities and events across County Durham.

We run regular weekly sessions during term time for children and young people at our base in Crook alongside varied activities for adults and families.

We are a BFI Network Film Academy providing filmmaking opportunities for young people ages 16-19 and run two thriving youth arts cafes in the centre of Crook. Our allotment in Roddymoor is also used to run outdoor arts and holistic therapy projects.

What can we offer DurhamWorks Young People?

Our range of creative activities help young people learn new skills, build confidence and raise self esteem with a particular focus on supporting young people with poor mental health.

We help young people to move into volunteering, further education, work placements, creative apprenticeships and employment. We also offer one-to-one practical and emotional support with a dedicated Youth Engagement Worker to help young people overcome issues and barriers which stop them from staying in education or employment.

Jack Drum can run tailored projects for individuals or groups of DurhamWorks young people, working to design a project that is suited to need. Our experienced artists have a wide range of skills and areas of expertise, which they use to deliver projects, including photographers, musicians, actors, make-up and costume designers, filmmakers and many more.
