Citizens Advice County Durham

Who are we?

Citizens Advice provides free, confidential and independent advice to help people overcome their problems. We're here for everyone and we can help with everything from money issues to problems at work, housing to consumer rights.

We help people across the county, face to face, over the phone, by email and webchat. We value diversity, champion equality and challenge discrimination.

What can we offer DurhamWorks Young People?

Adviceline Call Training (ACT)

We offer support, guidance and employability skills training at our Peterlee office.
Young people are given an overview of our core advice areas, to help them understand their rights and responsibilities in society.

We help learners to get job ready. This includes achieving their personal goals, such as travelling independently, recognising and developing their key strengths and understanding what an employer is looking for, as well as completing practical work experience which will boost their CV.

Our training is an asset on any young person’s CV and can really make the difference between wanting a job and actually getting it! For those with disabilities, we endeavour to make every reasonable adjustment possible to enable them to learn as independently as possible.
