Military Life for Kyle

Kyle Smith was a year 11 leaver with no plans or definite ideas of what he wanted to do for a career. He came into DurhamWorks as NEET and was allocated to DurhamWorks Progression Adviser, Tom Lynn. After the initial meeting, Tom established that Kyle had family related issues that were holding him back. He was also unsure of where to look for information about what he could do in the future and what help was available. Andy's story

Andy has ADHD and went to a school for pupils with special educational needs before moving onto a training course, which he didn’t enjoy. DurhamWorks supported him to find an apprenticeship that he really enjoys.


Steve's story

Steve spent time in care when he was younger and has health conditions, including Diabetes, as well as low self-esteem and confidence. He struggled with school, but with support from DurhamWorks has not only enrolled in college, but showed such ability that he has moved to a higher level course.
